Explore Our HistoryCommunity-rooted support that helps refugees and immigrants build independent lives while maintaining cultural identity.
Refugee & Immigrant Self-Empowerment (RISE) works alongside refugees and immigrants as they build independent lives, support their families, and contribute to the communities they call home.
Our work begins with respect for the knowledge, resilience, and cultural traditions people bring. We listen to their goals and connect them with practical support through newcomer services, employment, education, care management and health, and agriculture.
With a presence in Syracuse and Buffalo, RISE brings community relationships and lived experience to the work of helping people navigate systems, access opportunities, and shape their own futures.
